According to a study published by Forrester Research Inc. in November, nearly three quarters of youths in France aged 12-24 read blogs daily and over half post comments at least once a month.

Italians are ahead for blog reading at 68%, followed by Spain at 54%, Sweden, 52%, UK, 43%, Germany, 33%, and Netherlands, 33%. In Sweden, nearly 90% of youth aged 12-24 connect to the Internet every day, with just slightly less in France. The total average of those aged 12-24 connecting to the Internet amongst these seven countries is just over three quarters.

For youths in France, blogging comes in just after e-mail as the most common Internet activity. Over half of youths search for information on consumer products and 40% are looking up reference sites such as Wikipedia.

The study also shows that as French people grow older, their online interests change: they switch from leisure and communication to more research and buying activities.
