PayPal, eBay, LinkedIn, Facebook & Foursquare are coming to Russia
This autumn five of the largest Internet companies are going to start recruitment drives in Russia. Inside information about the developments appeared on Facebook on the page of Russian PR agency Pruffi earlier this month. PayPal, eBay, LinkedIn, Facebook and Foursquare are all companies eyeing up an expansion into the Russian marketplace with others following close behind.

PayPal is planning to open an office in Moscow at the end of autumn 2011. The company is already negotiating with the local postal service about deliveries and solving problems regarding payments through PayPal from Russia. Russian tech blog vedomosti.ru wrote that that "if PayPal opens the business in Moscow it will become a very important competitor to local payment systems." This is PayPal's second attempt to break in to the Russian marketplace – they were unsuccessful at their first attempt in summer 2010.

According to the data from Pruffi; PayPal is looking for a Russian CEO, head of marketing and PR manager. EBay will be recruiting an experienced head of marketing, LinkedIn is looking for local manager who will be responsible for promotion in Russia and the involvement of high-profile employers, Facebook is going to expand their stake in Russia, and Foursquare is interested in regional managers.
