The Yandex Blog has stated that, from next week, Yandex will implement a new algorithm which will affect the rankings of websites with over-optimized copy. This algorithm will analyze the content on indexed pages and judge its value and convenience for users.

If you're up to date on SEO news, it's of little doubt you've heard Baidu and Bing's deal to serve Microsoft's indexed results on the leading Chinese search engine. English search terms entered in to Baidu were set to return the top 3 results from Bing's index and competitively position them against entries from Baidu's regional index. Since Baidu boasts a 70-80% dominance of the search market in China it's easy to understand Microsoft's methodology of increasing its foothold in the market. And sure enough this announced functionality has been slowly integrated into Baidu's SERPs since the announcement. You can read more about the deal that took place in July here.
