OBAN Objectives
The University of Nottingham required International SEO and PPC management in the countries listed on the right. As with many educational establishments in the UK and Europe, the University needed to recruit further international students via the global marketing of their websites – incorporating various search strategies to attract users directly to the University thus cutting out the middle-man.
OBAN Solution
- Our work initially involved market-scoping research in a number of the target markets. Our local teams thoroughly investigated the opportunities for the University in each market, and based on that, made detailed suggestions as to how best approach the markets online for the best results.
- In parallel to this activity, OBAN conducted campus wide SEO/SEM training to all stakeholders and staff with a direct responsibility for international recruitment.
- Based on these results, the University launched a number of pilot campaigns to test the viability of search as a recruitment channel.
- In close collaboration with the University we installed a robust tracking system to measure ROI to end enrolment of an actual student paying and starting in the academic year.
- Due to the significant success of these campaigns in providing direct revenue at an unrivalled ROI, the campaigns were all extended.
OBAN Results
Quality Applications and a 1000% R.O.I. Over the last year full SEO campaigns in four markets (in Asia and Eastern Europe) have produced the following results:- Quality Applications: Of the students that applied directly through OBAN’s work ‐ 61% were offered a place.
- New Students: Of the students that applied directly through OBAN’s work - 13 are now at the University with a further four starting this year. This equates to a 35% success rate.
- 1000% R.O.I: OBAN’s work over the last year has provided Nottingham with a 1000% return on investment which equates to over £250,000 worth of revenue over a one-year period.
