Usability

Key Facts :

In Japan, more than half of Internet users access the web via a mobile

The number of Arabic speaking Internet users has increased nearly tenfold in the last seven years (2000-2007).

German nationals generate nearly 20% of all Internet usage in the European Union, followed by the UK (15%) and France (13%).

International Usability

Oban Multilingual has been conducting international website usability testing since 2000. During that time we have advised government agencies and multinational companies on how best to improve their online usability for international audiences. In every project we are seeking to improve not only the performance of the site but also the ROI (Return On Investment). In some cases, with our tailored client offerings for each country and culture, we have improved ROI by up to 500%.

Our work in international web usability is based on the cultural and linguistic impact of the interface and looking at how people in different countries interact with a website, along with discovering those people’s expectations. International Web Usability can lead to much higher conversions for all international online campaigns. Our work is focused on providing both evidence-based guidelines and results.

The following areas are studied for each country:

• International Web Usability Guidelines
• Design Processes and Considerations
• Content Creation
• Content Organisation
• Country Specific Titles, Descriptions and Headings
• Country Specific Layout
• Colour and Graphics
• Interface Reading Skills
• Information Architecture
• Navigation
• Country Specific Legislation
• Country Specific: Search Engine Optimisation
